Fire Laser
FireLaser is Bandweaver’s advanced Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system, purpose-built for reliable, long-range linear heat detection in demanding environments.
Using a standard fiber optic cable as the sensing element, FireLaser continuously measures temperature along its entire length, pinpointing the exact location of abnormal heat or fire. With detection capability over distances up to 10km per channel, it is ideal for tunnels, conveyor belts, cable trays, warehouses, and battery storage facilities. Fully compliant with EN54-22 and other international standards, FireLaser offers precise alarm zoning, rapid response, and seamless integration with fire panels, SCADA, and building management systems for comprehensive safety monitoring.

HOW IT WORKS
The Bandeaver FireLaser Distributed Temperature Sensor (DTS) measures the temperature along the fiber. The key steps include:
- Laser Pulse Transmission – The FireLaser unit sends precise laser pulses into a standard fiber optic sensing cable.
- Backscatter Signal Return – As the light travels along the cable, it interacts with the glass fibers and a tiny portion of the light is scattered back.
- Location Determination – FireLaser calculates the exact location of the temperature event, accurate to within ±1m.
- Temperature Measurement – Changes in the backscattered light pattern (Raman scattering) are analysed to determine the temperature at every point along the cable.
- Continuous Monitoring – The system monitors the entire cable in real time, detecting any abnormal rise in temperature.
- Alarm Triggering – When a temperature threshold or smart alarm condition is met, FireLaser triggers alarms for the specific zone.
- System Integration – Alarms are transmitted to fire panels, SCADA, or BMS for rapid operator action, often alongside CCTV activation.
- Event Logging & Reporting – All events are logged for post-incident analysis, compliance, and maintenance planning.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION
FireLaser is designed to integrate seamlessly into fire protection, safety, and control environments, ensuring fast alarm delivery and coordinated response.

Linear Heat Detection
Bandweaver’s range of fiber optic monitoring systems are designed specifically to enhance the fire safety of critical infrastructure and personnel.
We provide solutions for fire detection utilising linear heat detection technology, monitoring environments over a long-range distance (linear assets), typically in special hazard environments.
LHD systems can detect a fire anywhere along the length of the linear heat-sensing cable, over several kilometres. Bandweaver utilises fiber optic distributed temperature sensing, one of the key technologies available within this field.
Combined with our smart software and services, this solution provides operators with the right information at the right time.
Whether the asset is in a remote location or a busy inner city, Bandweaver’s solutions enable swift decision-making and help to minimise damage and consequently avoid catastrophic failure and to reduce financial, environmental, and reputational risk.
