We are pleased to announce that SenseTek Fire and Security Solutions has been awarded a contract to supply Bandweaver’s FireLaser DTS for protection of a Car Parking facility in Amsterdam. The car park is a single-story facility beneath 9 office buildings with a total of over 800 parking spaces. 7,000 metres of cable was installed, divided into two redundant loops.
Richard Kluth of Bandweaver stated, “SenseTek has done an excellent job in working with their customer to incorporate the FireLaser DTS technology. There are increasing challenges of car park fire safety (more flammable materials, larger cars with larger volumes of fuel). It is imperative that fire detection technology detects events as quick as possible. We are very proud to work together with SenseTek on this project in Amsterdam”.
Hans Bronkhorst of SenseTek commented, “With years of experience with various thermal cable systems in hundreds of car parks we had some doubts at first proposing a fibre optical solution. During live tests with Bandweaver in another parking facility, we got convinced of the speed of detection and the ease of installation and commissioning of the FireLaser system. The Bandweaver FireLaser system makes commissioning and maintenance labour for larger facilities much easier. It is also quicker than with the systems that we previously used. That, together with a very interesting price level for the end-user, makes that we have offered the Bandweaver FireLaser for numerous projects since”.
FireLaser DTS System
The FireLaser Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) system connects to a distributed fiber optic cable (FireFiber). It determines temperature and distance data at thousands of points along the length of the cable.
