LINEAR HEAT DETECTION
Fires can spread rapidly and cause catastrophic damage if not detected early. Bandweaver’s Linear Heat Detection (LHD) systems combine the power of the FireLaser Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) unit with the FireFiber linear heat sensing cable. Together, they deliver continuous, real-time temperature monitoring along the full length of an installation. Unlike point detectors, this provides complete coverage with no blind spots, detecting abnormal heat rises in seconds and enabling intervention – often before flames appear.

BENEFITS

Ultra-Fast Detection
FireLaser LHD detects fire threats in as little as 5 seconds.

Complete Coverage
Continuous sensing along the entire cable length, unlike spot-based detectors.

Intelligent Alarms
Configurable alarms for temperature deviation, rate of rise, and maximum thresholds.

Reliable in Harsh Environments
Performs in smoke, dust, humidity, and airflow where conventional detectors fail.

Versatile Applications
From tunnels and warehouses to conveyors, batteries, and high-voltage cables.

Reduced Damage & Downtime
Early detection minimises risk, protects assets, and improves safety.
TYPES OF SYSTEMS
Every environment carries its own unique fire risks. FireLaser LHD is designed with the flexibility to protect both large open spaces and specific high-value assets, ensuring comprehensive coverage across a wide range of applications.
Open Space Protection
FireLaser LHD can be ceiling- or wall-mounted to provide reliable coverage across large open areas. By continuously monitoring temperature changes, the system detects developing fire risks long before smoke or flame-based detectors respond.
Typical applications include:
Road, rail, and service tunnels
Warehouses and distribution centres
Factories and production halls
Car parks and underground garages
This approach ensures complete area protection, even in harsh or dusty environments where conventional detectors may be compromised.
Asset-Mounted Protection
For maximum precision, FireLaser LHD can also be installed directly onto the assets themselves. The fiber optic sensing cable is mounted in close contact with the equipment, providing ultra-fast detection exactly where risks are highest.
Typical applications include:
Power and High Voltage Cables
Warehouse Racking and Shelving
Industrial Machinery and Process Equipment
Battery Storage Systems and electrical installations
Conveyor Belts and Moving Equipment
pv panels
This configuration enables early intervention at the source of the hazard, reducing the risk of damage, downtime, and costly disruptions
