Fiber optic solutions manufacturer, Bandweaver Technology are delighted to be shortlisted in several categories across both fire and security at this year’s awards.
Now in their twenty-third year, the Security & Fire Excellence Awards highlight the very best businesses, products, and projects that the security and fire sectors have to offer. The awards celebrate innovation and emphasise the importance of high standards and pioneering excellence.
Bandweaver is thrilled to have made it to the final of the following four categories:
- Active/Passive Fire Project of the Year with RAET and the Santa Lucia Tunnel
- Security Hardware/Software Manufacturer of the Year
- Security Hardware Product Innovation of the Year with ZoneSentry
- Security Project of the Year with New Alert for the Stavria 12 MW PV Plant
Taking place on Wednesday 23 November 2022 at Hilton on Park Lane, London, members of the Bandweaver team will be in attendance when the winners are announced.
Speaking on the announcement, Richard Kluth, Managing Director of Bandweaver Technology said: “We couldn’t be more pleased to have made it to the final of these awards once again, and in no less than four categories. To be recognised as a business as well as for a key product and multiple projects is a real achievement. We are proud to have our name sit among the other innovative businesses who have been announced as finalists this year.”
Bandweaver’s Santa Lucia project is amongst those to have been shortlisted for the Active/Passive Fire Project of the Year, delivered with local partner RAET. The system was designed using Bandweaver’s FireLaser Linear Heat Detection System to protect the Santa Lucia Tunnel in Italy. With a length of 7.8 km, the Santa Lucia Tunnel is the longest three-lane tunnel in Europe, and one of the largest in the world.
Speaking of the project, Richard Kluth commented: “Bandweaver’s solution provides coverage for the entire length of this record-breaking tunnel. With measurement points every 1m, the solution offers a level of accuracy that alternative solutions simply cannot achieve.”
ZoneSentry, Bandweaver’s Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, has been selected as a finalist for the Security Hardware Product Innovation of the Year 2022.
Launched in April 2022, ZoneSentry uses state-of-the-art fiber optic sensing technology to protect property and assets with perimeters up to 8km. With a single fiber optic cable attached to the property exterior, or key assets, ZoneSentry detects and alerts operators to the vibrations associated with intrusion events. With the ability to integrate CCTV cameras to the system too, it provides accurate real-time monitoring for smaller sites.
ZoneSentry was recently deployed on the Stavria 12 MW PV plant by Greek partner New Alert. The Stavria project is one of the largest solar projects in Greece and is a very prestigious project to have been awarded. This project has also been shortlisted in Security Project of the Year.
Endorsed by The Independent Awards Standards Council, The Security and Fire Excellence Awards are known for their fair and independent judging process, and as such have been presented the Awards Trust Mark.
